The Zoelle Leaire Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. The foundation was started in 2019 to provide financial assistance to families who have a child that is awaiting intestinal or multivisceral transplantation. The child must be actively listed on the pediatric transplant waiting list with intestinal failure due to short bowel syndrome. Funds are provided to cover medical and personal living expenses.
Families awaiting transplant are faced with monumental life decisions. Many of which significantly impact a family’s financial stability to care and provide for the child awaiting transplant. The Zoelle Leaire Foundation in support of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Hospitals provide access to available funds for families who are in immediate need.
